The Reordering

What Scott says

And what I found is, for the last 15 years, there's one pattern I've been doing all the time. And so I called that the reordering. And it's kind of what we've already been talking about, but I'll just be more specific. This is one pole.

This is another pole. Okay. And between the two, let me put this metal. This is, I don't know if you can see it on the video.

This is the, I'll put it like this. This is the alive field, right, that connects the two poles of the paradox. Okay. So how it works is, say if you think you're this pole, and say this pole is anger, right?

Say this is the somatic experience of anger. And this is your awareness is my hand. And so you're grasping, or you're contracted around the anger. And you go, I'm angry.

And it's strong. And then you recognize, you go, oh, look it, I'm angry. Wait. And you recognize that you're angry.

It's not just anger, you're angry. You're like, oh, wait, there's space. I'm choosing to be angry. I mean, anger's still there, but I'm choosing my relationship with it.

Okay, now, look. You've widened the connection with the anger. There's space. Now you have a choice.

What do I do with this? Okay. Is this my most authentic view, or my most authentic perspective? And you go, if I'm always focused on the anger, if 80% of my awareness is focused on the anger, is that authentic?

No, 80% of me is not anger. I'm a lot of things. Anger is maybe 5%. Okay, so then let's bring the awareness back.

Oh, wait, look it, I'm this. What's this? Oh, this is my ground of being. This is the source of me, or this is that stable, grounded point in my abdomen, right, that we've been discussing.

Okay. So now you're aware of this, and you're aware of this, okay? So there's the paradox, you see? Two opposite or different things at once.

So now we're aware of both these things, and we're aware of the field between it, right? And so what we're doing right now is we're valuing the object of our awareness more than we are the relationship between the two, or the field, right? And so once we recognize these two things, we then shift our focus from the things to the relationship between the two things, you see? And then often that's where we encounter tension.

There's a tension in the paradox. And there's also a relationship. What is my relationship like? And if we can hold both those objects and the relationship at the same time, what we'll notice is that we'll spontaneously shift from the objects to the alive field.

And then we can recognize that we are the alive field, and that both of these objects are born out of the alive field. They're literally made up of our own transmission, which is what is making up the alive field. And then the whole thing shifts, and then we return to intuitive flow and wholeness. And I call that the reordering, because what's happened is you've switched your valuing from valuing the object of your awareness to valuing the space and the relationships that the objects exist in.
