What Scott says

The self is a circular pattern of thinking. It's actually many circular patterns of thinking, probably hundreds and hundreds or thousands, all kind of stacked together into what we call a self. And all those circular patterns of thinking have a momentum because we feed that momentum. And when you have your first awakening, it begins to stop the momentum.

We stop feeding the momentum. So the self still goes on and it still has momentum, but we stop feeding it. Maybe not all the way, but in a significant way. And that begins to quote unquote kind of kill the false self, right?

It doesn't kill it in that we lose total attachment, but it but it does disempower it in a significant way. So death of the personal will is when you have less motivation and you get less meaning out of your normal human life tasks or goals. And a lot of people are struggling with this because there's a lot of people waking up right now spontaneously, and there's still not a lot of good community or context to explain to people what it means and what happens when you wake up. And if And so it's important that there's a certain amount of context in community for people as they have their awakening experiences and to help shepherd them and teach them and guide them through the pitsfalls and the ups and downs of these awakenings.
