The whole path
A fine line between intention and control
It's a fine line between intention and control.
What Scott says
It's a fine line between intention and control. So, with any sort of exercise like that, there can be this tendency to try to make an experience happen, right? Like, I said it, I did it, so then the student should do it, or the person watching should do it. It's a fine line between intention and control.
I do not recommend that anyone be controlling. Control only leads to more suffering, only leads to lack of authenticity. However, by me describing and modeling an experience and you setting an intention and letting go of control, you're still directing your awareness, right? And you're affecting your relationship with the space or with the thing that your awareness is on, right, or aware of the object, but we're not actively directing the object.
I believe that with that authentic relationship, there is the potential for more rapid learning and communication from me to you.
