What Scott says
Let's try the same, we'll do something quite similar. So imagine that you are the heart. You are your heart. Allow your awareness to focus, your perception, to focus around your heart.
You could say something like, I am my emotions. Try saying that three times. I am my emotions. I am my emotions.
I am love. I am anger. I am sadness I am fear. Basically, what the heart is saying is: because I feel, I exist.
I exist. I know I exist because I feel so many emotions so deeply. So what we're trying to do is find and connect and kind of embolden the sense of self that is directly attached or dependent on our emotional self. It's our emotional self.
So now I want you to look out from the heart. Same as before, as if the heart is, there's a part, there's a density, it's like a fixation or a sensation or your awareness is contracted around it. And then you're looking out through your chest and feeling the world from your heart. So once again, let's have our awareness in the heart and then it's moving out through the chest into the world.
And then let's do the same thing Let's, as it goes into the field, do a U-turn and direct the awareness from the heart right back at the heart and ask the question: What is feeling? What is feeling this emotion? What is feeling? Or who is feeling?
Either one. What is feeling? Good. Let's try it again.
Once again, allowing your awareness to contract around the area where your heart is. Connecting with the energy in the heart, the sense of identity in the heart, fixation. And then opening that up out to the field and then going out and feeling outside of your body, outside of your heart, into the space in the field. And then once you get outside of it, gently turning it right back around and sending that curiosity, that energy back at that which is feeling back at the heart.
And then asking yourself, what is it? What is it that is feeling? And we'll do it one more time. Noticing that space where your heart is.
And then moving your awareness out of the body, out into the field, in front of your chest. And then doing a U-turn back into your chest, back at the heart. With the question, the curiosity, what is it that is feeling? What feels emotion?
Who feels emotion? For me, as I do this practice, I notice something similar. I notice the certainty of emotion, the density and the fixations on because I feel I must exist. I've noticed those begin to almost shudder or shake and then begin to erode and then begin to fall away.
And then once again, I'm just left with the feeling itself. Just before we were left with the looking, now I'm left with the feeling. I'm left with just love, not coming from anywhere or going anywhere, but rather love looking at the space where I thought my emotional self was.
