The shattered mirror
One way to think about that is if your soul or spirit is like a light shining into your body, and the self is a mirror at the bottom.
What Scott says
One way to think about that is if your soul or spirit is like a light shining into your body, and the self is a mirror at the bottom, almost like a mirror in your lower abdomen, say by your perineum or your lower dontion. If that mirror is shattered into seven pieces, that's what it's like to be attached to your childhood story of suffering, your traumatic self. And quite literally, it's as if you have five to seven separate selves, all broken in similar but different ways or complementary ways.
