Grieving the loss is the way back to feeling alive again
Grieving the loss is the way back to feeling alive again.
What Scott says
Heart openings can make you lifeless. Once you have a heart opening, you experience in the heart opening this vast interconnectedness with all things and this great love and potential and okayness with the world. Ultimately, that peak experience goes away. And if you don't grieve the loss of losing that unified field of love and interconnectedness of all things, then you become contracted and fearful and smaller.
And then the increased openness, vulnerability, and sensitivity that arises out of the heart opening begins to feel less like a gift and more like a prison sentence. You begin to avoid the ups and downs of human everyday life, of human existence, avoid the disappointments and the abandonments, avoid the losses and the fears because you feel so vulnerable almost as if a layer of skin has disappeared. If this has happened, you must grieve the losses, grieve the loss of the interconnectedness of all things, and then move forward in your body, energetically lean forward out of the witnessing position in the back of your chest and inhabit your body all the way up to the skin and maybe a little beyond.
It may feel intense or scary at first, but that is the way back to feeling alive again.
