What Scott says

Really, you're dying alone all the time. If we have this story that, like, you get old and then you die, and you know, you die alone, and it's difficult, and all this stuff, right? There's kind of this communal story of mortality, right? But I don't think it's that accurate.

Like, really, you're dying alone all the time, hundreds of times, thousands of times, all the time. And how you die today is directly related to how you die when you actually die. And if you're good at dying today and really honest with where you're at and what it means to be you and what you value and not hide behind stories or lies, then my guess is when it comes to the actual physical death, it will be okay. No, it's not probably easy or comfortable, or a lot of times it can be painful, or when people die, they can be for different reasons, can be painful, but that it will be okay.

A lot of people, because they haven't lived a life that's conscious or awake, or they've lived in a lie or hiding or letting other people dictate their lives when they come to their own mortality and with pain or sickness or death, it's not okay because it forces them to realize all the things they've been running from and avoiding for their whole life. And then that's extremely difficult and painful because they weren't prepared for that moment, right? Because they've been running from that moment this whole time. So then it's not okay.

Time is up. So that perpetuates this kind of story in modern culture that dying is bad and, you know, everybody has these regrets and blah, blah, blah, which, you know, a lot of people do. But that doesn't mean it has to be the way it is for you.
