Change moves in spirals
We just keep revisiting the same losses, the same traumas, but in different forms.
What Scott says
we just keep revisiting the same losses, the same traumas, but in different forms, different is change gradual or is change sudden? one way to view life is we have kind of this like disc of events in our life. And then we're just constantly going back through the disc all the time. So our whole lives, we just keep revisiting the same losses, the same traumas, but in different forms, different costumes, right?
So what's actually happening is we just keep going through the same 40, 50 events over and over. And so it's just a circle. And then the question is: how do you go from one circle to another? Because clearly we move from one to another.
Is it gradual? Doesn't really make any sense. Or is it a paradigm shift? Well, it feels like a paradigm shift because it's like you're doing this and all of a sudden you're a new you and there's this you right it's basically both but the simplest way is to just make it spirals because spirals suggest that all the circles are connected right so it's basically looks like spirals but it's actually just circles that are kind of you know they're kind of just at an angle a little bit they're basically just all circles
